The Cry Goes Unheard

In her haste to save her dresses, Natella abandons her young child, the son of the Governor, before the city is attacked by the ironshirts. The character of Grusha finds the helpless child and decides to care for him, against the advice of her peers. She sings to Simon, her love, of the difficulty and significance of her decision.

Beside The Glacier

Coming upon a glacier that has a deep ravine in it, Grusha must decide whether to attempt to cross the chasm using the broken rope bridge, or to face the ironshirts who pursue her. She sings to Michael, the young child she rescued, and assures him that he will not be forsaken.
